Grass Roots - Bella Linda (Balla Linda) |
Bella Linda, try and
understand It's so hard for me to
say Bella Linda, try and
understand We've had bad times
Bella Linda, try and
understand Bella Linda, try and
understand |
(Testo e adattamento in inglese di Steve Barri e Barry Gross, originale di Battisti e Mogol ) |
Note |
The Grass Roots, after the success of Let's Live For Today (Piangi con me) #8 in the top-10 U.S. in 1967, proposed an English version of the first success of Lucio Battisti, the most famous songwriter in Italy during the sixties and seventies. This song arrived at 28 U.S. ranking. Lucio Battisti in the USA is remembered, judging from what is listed on All Music, more as the author of this song than for his next attempt in English (The Sun Song). As can be seen comparing the lyrics in Italian and English, the English authors, as the Italian ones of the same period, often strated from the originallyrics to develop a completely different text. The American Linda does not have the intention to dance. |
Balla Linda,
balla come sai
Occhi azzurri belli come i suoi Bella sempre,
dolce come lei Balla Linda,
balla come sai
Occhi azzurri belli come i suoi
Balla Linda, balla come sai (Mogol / Battisti) |
